GET UP, STAND UP! AUDITIONS
NOW ACCEPTING VIDEO AUDITIONS FOR GET UP, STAND UP!, a drive-in outdoor cabaret series, occurring over 4 separate evenings, that will feature changing nightly lineups of local artists and celebrities performing protest songs from throughout history. Patrons will park in a designated parking spot and tune in to the show’s audio via their car stereos, as the live, socially distanced show is happening on a raised parking lot stage in front of them. From “The Star Spangled Banner” to “This Land is Your Land” to “Alright”, America has a storied legacy of the “protest song”. They have been around for as long as humans have had conflict. As our nation ramps up for another election cycle, Kitchen Dog wants to celebrate democracy as well as amplify the voices of our local artist community, who have recently struggled to be heard during the pandemic with traditional venues closed for the unforeseeable future.
Video audition information and submission form below! Performers will be paid $50, and if selected as an audience favorite, can make an additional $50 for performing at the Election Night show. Submission deadline is 5pm WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30.
* Tips on Self-Recording: Please make sure you are well lit and can be seen and heard clearly. Shoot in the horizontal/landscape position. Whenever possible, use a tripod or have someone tape you as the video quality will be better than a “selfie” taping.
